A new textile project will begin during February as part of the Sanskriti project. Community groups and individuals are welcome to join the group. This project will ask participants to tell their story through the creation of a portrait made from Indian and Northern Irish textiles. As a participant you will gain a knowledge of the heritage of the textile trade and culture of India. Bright colours and luxurious fabrics will be the inspiration for your piece. All you need to bring along are memories, photographs and materials that mean something to you (if you like). The final pieces will be part of a travelling exhibition during 2016.
This project will take place over 10 weeks and will run in Belfast and other parts of Northern Ireland. If you would like to become involved in our workshops please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place.
